I just finished reading The Joy of Less. A Minimalist Guide to Declutter, Organize, and Simplify, by Francine Jay, Miss Minimalist. The book is revolutionary in how it can positively affect your wellbeing with a few simple steps. It applies to all of us with regard to what we keep — whether it’s a collection of books that have been read, a closet packed with outdated clothes or a garage full of various unused items. I recommend everyone read this book to see the difference it can make in your life.

As I look back on my 2016 projects, two of them define the minimalist philosophy and a new beginning. Photos of these projects are shown above. What a joy it was to work with these clients and see the positive affect minimalism had on their lives. They are able to spend quality time with friends and family, travel when they so desire, and spend money on items that are important to them.
As an interior designer and Feng Shui practitioner, one of the most important aspects of a space is the flow. The wellness of a space has a great affect on the wellness of those who inhabit it. By letting go of the excess, organizing what is worth keeping, and donating extraneous items to those who can use them, we enrich our lives and the lives of others.
I recommend you resolve to keep only what you love, wear, use and need from now on.

- Increase your free time, since you can devote less time to maintain and manage items you really don’t need.
